The phrase repeats itself over and over again in his mind: "Silent night, holy night, Stille nacht, heilige nacht." Father Joseph Mohr, Parish Priest. It's the first line from a poem this young Austrian priest had written two years before. Now he can't get the phrase out of his mind. "Silent night, holy night." Tonight is Christmas Eve and St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf, north of Salzburg, will be chock-full of people. Father Joseph Mohr has a homily in mind, a message for his flock on this sacred night, but he needs a carol, something special to cap off the service. Read more...

What are human rights? Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible. The right to live free, to speak your mind and to be treated as equal. According to the United Nations there are a total of 30 human rights. The human rights are the only ones applied to everyone, they are universal. What are they?

Dear TW Readers,

July 2009 has been a month of crisis around the globe and especially in Iran where a fight for individual civil rights has been fraught with protests and violence.  Millions of people all over the globe have become acutely aware of the struggles of the Iranian people to become masters of their own destinies.  We at Treasurers of Wonderment decided it was crucial that we focus on this most important issue and leave the important issues for tomorrow.   So, we hope that you will join us in our quest to give all of our attention at this time to civil rights and the trial of the Iran Bahá'í Seven whose fate is in the hands of all of us and what we do to bring about their safe return to their families.

Reports of a trial date for Bahá'í leaders falsely accused of espionage. According to information conveyed by the authorities in Evin prison to the family members of the seven Bahá'ís who have been imprisoned in Tehran, Iran, for over a year, their, Trial Date has been set for  11 July 2009. This information has been provided to the family members only orally and, as information conveyed by officials concerning the judicial process has often proved unreliable, it is possible that the Iranian authorities may find some reason to change the trial date.
