Kristin Barnes

Kristin Barnes, singer, songwriter and vocal coach was born in Los Angeles, CA. As the daughter of legendary musician and producer John Barnes who worked with Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, Herb Alpert, Paulino Da Costa, Manhattan Transfer and Celine Dion, and singer/songwriter Sharon Barnes who wrote for Patti LaBelle and Dee Dee Bridgewater, Kristin Barnes was exposed to music from birth. Her early childhood often found her sleeping in recording studios and hanging out in jam sessions soaking up the creative energy of a professional music environment.

Kristin Barnes formal training as a singer began in High School at the Hamilton Academy of Music in Los Angeles. There she participated in Musical Theater, Choir and Vocal Jazz classes. She continued her education at Cal State University at Northridge, as well as studying with private vocal coaches. Kristin is well known for her rich and versatile voice, having performed in many styles including Jazz, Soul, Latin, Classical, Pop, Rock and Gospel. Over the last 14 years, she has recorded and performed alongside Chaka Khan, WAR, Ronald Laws, Dwight Trible, Nedra Wheeler, Derf Reklaw and many others. She has also appeared on the recordings of legendary producers and composers such as Russ Garcia, KC Porter and John Barnes.

"Kristin Barnes" has been the Director of the "Jeffrey Barnes Baha'i Choir" in Los Angeles and has recently completed a music workshop concert in Tuscon, Arizona with the Tuscon Baha'i Choir on Saturday, June 27th @ the Unity Church in Tuscon, AZ, accompanied by My-key Bellamy. More videos are in the process of going up online about this remarkable and incredible singer and song writer. Kristin has also done background vocals for India .Arie, The late legendary Michael Jackson, The late MC Trouble, Full Circle learning projects for children CD's, Ms. Barnes is currently residing in Los Angeles as a vocal coach for professional and amateur music industry singers.

Currently, she is a vocal coach and is in the process of developing her seminar series called Find Your Voice, Change Your Life.
