The Picture Of Light Is Painted In Words
The phrase repeats itself over and over again in his mind: "Silent night, holy night, Stille nacht, heilige nacht." Father Joseph Mohr, Parish Priest. It's the first line from a poem this young Austrian priest had written two years before. Now he can't get the phrase out of his mind. "Silent night, holy night." Tonight is Christmas Eve and St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf, north of Salzburg, will be chock-full of people. Father Joseph Mohr has a homily in mind, a message for his flock on this sacred night, but he needs a carol, something special to cap off the service. Read more...

Musical Bridge Between Asia and America
A common theme in many Arabian Nights tales is fate and destiny. The Italian filmmaker Pier Paolo Pasolini observed: “every tale in The Thousand and One Nights begins with an 'appearance of destiny” which manifests itself through an anomaly and one anomaly always generates another. So a chain of anomalies is set up. And the more logical, tightly knit, essential this chain is, the more beautiful the tale... The end of every tale in the The One Thousand and One Nights consists of a 'disappearance' of destiny, which sinks back to the somnolence of daily life ... The protagonist "one who plays the first  main character of the stories” is in fact destiny itself.  Thank you for being with us, Bob.  Your Artist life has been a profound and busy one, lets  us hear your Chinese and American Tales (smile!) We Were Called And We Came
We came on foot. We came by air. We came of a land and sea, from everywhere. We came through snow and heat. We came through conflicts and peace. We came from North and South, from West and East. We came alone, and we came together. We came as sisters and as brothers. We brought the youngest and the oldest, families, neighbors and friends. We came in tens. We came in hundreds. We came in thousands and tens of thousands. We were called and we came. Read more...

Freedom From Ideas Brings About Transformation
Krishnamurti:  Obviously the present crisis throughout the world is exceptional, without precedent. There have been crises of varying types at different periods throughout history, social, national, political. Crises come and go; economic recessions, depressions, come, get modified, and continue in a different form. We know that; we are familiar with that process. Surely the present crisis is different, is it not? It is different first because we are dealing not with money nor with tangible things but with ideas. The crisis is exceptional because it is in the field of ideation. We are quarreling with ideas, we are justifying murder; everywhere in the world we are justifying murder as a means to a righteous end, which in itself is unprecedented. Read more...

Hatred and Prejudice Due To Lack of One Common Language
Some of you might have heard about L. L. Zamenhof. Ludwig Lazarus (Louis Lazare) Zamenhof was born on December 15, 1859 in the town of Bialystok in Poland. He considered his native language to be his father's Russian, but also spoke his mother's Yiddish natively. He also spoke that language fluently, though not as comfortably as Yiddish. Later he learned French, Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and English, and had an interest in Italian, Spanish and Lithuanian. As he grew older, he spoke more Polish, and that became the native language of his children. Zamenhof believed that the real reason for hatred and prejudice around the world lay in mutual misunderstanding, caused by the lack of one common language. Thus, he created what he felt would be an international auxiliary language, Esperanto, and  he  strongly believed that it would be the way of promoting the peaceful coexistence of different peoples and cultures which could bring about peace.
