Betty HoubionAsk me about the beautiful bird formation
at the beach yesterday,
 
of how eighty to one hundred birds
flew in elongated intertwining ribbons,
 
formations from south to north
along the berm of  shore,
 
how they shone in  sunlight like diamonds,
and at one point twisted to the side in heart formation
 
then back again
into the flat-iron, ribbon formation,
 
how much joy I felt to have been there
to have seen such beauty.
